This guideline applies to spring elements for foundations in accordance with:

- DIN 4024-1 Machine foundations; flexible structures that support machines with rotating elements

- DIN 4024-2 Machine foundations; rigid foundations for machinery with periodic excitation; section 1a supporting machines with rotating masses.
In the case of spring foundations the machine supporting structure, reinforced concrete or steel, is mounted on  spring elements. Characteristics of this system are:

- vibration isolation of the machine set from the surrounding building,

- considerable reduction of the effect of differential settlement for the machine alignment, and

-  possibility to realign the machine supporting structure.
